2026 Italian Exhibit

Amazing Abruzzo

Collinsville Library
408 West Main Street, Collinsville, IL 62234
Sept. 1 – Oct. 15

This year, we cross the ocean once again. This time, we visit the region of Abruzzo.

It’s one of Italy’s twenty regions and is a true hidden gem offering a unique blend of impressive mountain landscapes, charming medieval villages and stunning Adriatic coastline.

Despite being just a short drive from Rome, Abruzzo remains one of Italy’s least explored regions, making it the perfect destination for those seeking outdoor adventures, authentic Italian culture and incredible food.

That’s just a beginning. Come explore Abruzzo’s unique history, wonderful festivals, inviting villages and much more in our walk-through exhibit open now through October 15 (near the main desk).

Location: Collinsville Memorial Library, 408 W. Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois 62234

Library Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Closed Sunday and September 7

Don’t miss this award-winning comedy!

A teacher from bustling Rome is transferred to an idyllic village in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park to work at a small school. He struggles to overcome the challenges of small-town life but adapts, thanks to the spirited pupils.

The film was described by the newspaper Quotidiano Nazionale as “Cinema and school, the comedy is a winner.”

The film is in Italian with English subtitles. Admission is free.
